Last few workshops of 2024!

In October, we held our final two free workshops for the year!

We hosted our Value Builder workshop at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel, welcoming businesses from across Hampshire and West Sussex to learn how to increase the value of their business. Some of these businesses were well-established and planning for exit, while others were brand new. Each attendee left with fresh ideas, an understanding of the importance of continuous growth throughout the business journey, and insight into why it’s crucial to make the business function without YOU.

As part of the event, we used our available tools to give each business a rough valuation, and attendees left with a roadmap for increasing the value of their business and taking it to the next level.

Alongside Value Builder, we also hosted the 6 Steps to a More Profitable Business workshop. Here, we shared strategies with a variety of businesses on how to build a successful operation.

Many businesses start with little formal business education, so this workshop covered essentials like planning, financial forecasting, and team management.

At 6 Steps, we covered everything you need to ensure your business is running effectively and profitably, sharing knowledge from our industry-leading business coaches with extensive backgrounds in business growth.

With 2024 winding down, we only have two more events left: Annual Planning on 14th November, in partnership with HSBC Bank, and GrowthCLUB on 18th December.

Both events provide an opportunity to work on your business, with planning sessions throughout the day and multiple workshops to help you learn new skills.

Annual Planning

Our Annual Planning workshop is just a week away!

In partnership with HSBC, we’re once again hosting this workshop to give our clients and other local businesses the chance to plan for the year ahead.

By attending, you’ll work alongside our industry-leading business coaches and incorporate your new insights from the day into your annual plan.

Business planning is a MUST when running a business. It allows you to set goals and create milestones throughout the year. For your employees, it provides a clear vision of what they’re working towards. And if you’re seeking investment, showing a bank or investor your upcoming plans can have a significant positive impact on their decision.

Shaping Portsmouth

In October, ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester partnered with Shaping Portsmouth, a local charity.

Together, we’ve created a special group programme for local businesses, providing additional support to help them grow.

At ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester, we know the importance of supporting local businesses to help them thrive and to contribute positively to our local economy.

Working closely with Shaping Portsmouth has enabled us to showcase our services to more local businesses and demonstrate the importance of investing in yourself and your business.

GrowthCLUB: 90 Day Planning & Masterclass

Following Annual Planning, our team will be welcoming back everyone to join us for the final GrowthCLUB of the year. This workshop allows you to plan your next 90-days in business and is a perfect opportunity to delve into your annual plan that you would have had created to sit down and create strategies for the next 90 days of your business. Hosted by our award-winning business coaches, you will be able to learn new things, implement ideas and find ways to improve your business.

GrowthCLUB is available to everyone and we provide several different options for you to access this workshop.

In September, we got to host another GrowthCLUB Masterclass at The Marriott Hotel, Portsmouth. We welcome our clients, regular attendees and brand-new faces mid-September to educate them on motivators within their teams and the importance of using referrals as a marketing strategy.

Improving Communication & Prepping For 2025

August was a slightly quieter month for us here at ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester. With many of our client’s taking their well deserved annual leave to spend time with their children while on school holidays, we decided to have a break from our masterclasses this month.

However, August has still been a crazy month for our office in Havant and here is why!

Sarah’s Team Training

Over the course of 3 sessions, Sarah has been presenting a tailor-made workshop to help with employee engagement for a local home care provider.

Together with the business owner, they were able to target issues within the company that revolved around the employees and how they communicate with one another.

By the final session, Sarah noticed the impacted of her workshops as the team was able to fix a problem without contacting the business owner while she was away on holiday. There was because they took away their learnings from Sarah’s session and restructured their management team so they could tackle issues first hand without going up the management ladder.

Annual Planning

At the very end of August the team here at ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester sat down with one another to go through the next 12 months and see how they can help cause an impact with reaching the company’s long-term goal.

The whole session took most part of a day and together the whole team discussed what they think worked well, what they think didn’t and how they would like 2025 to go. Together everyone, shared their concerns and how they would overcome them, their goals and how they are going to reach them and the overall vision for ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester.

As a business coaching and training provider, our main focus is helping businesses, their owners and their teams reach their goals, streamline their operations and build a business that can grow successfully. However, as a business ourselves, we also need to do all of these things to ensure that we continue to provide a 5-star service to our clients.

In November, we are at HSBC’s head office in Whiteley, Fareham to host a paid workshop to help you plan your next YEAR in business. This workshop you will be able to create an actionable 12 month plan which you will use as the roadmap to reach your goals as a business.

GrowthCLUB September

Not long now until our third GrowthCLUB event for the year!

On September 12th we are back at The Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth to host our quarterly GrowthCLUB workshop.

Every 3 months we invite our clients and other business owners from across Hampshire and West Sussex to join us for 90 day planning.

You will be able to create a roadmap for the next 3 months to help you reach your overall annual goals. You will be able to:

  • Create actionable strategies to increase your sales and profits right away.
  • Find clear business goals and targets for the next 90 days.
  • Walk away with a detailed action plan of how to achieve your goals.
  • Discover new skills and tools to enable you to achieve more in less time.
  • Have a clear understanding of what has and hasn’t worked in your business and why!
  • Learn new ways to get your team to take responsibility and ownership of their roles IN the business, leaving you with more free time to work ON the business.

Reflecting on a Eventful July

As August arrives, many business owners are taking a well-deserved break to spend time with their families during the school summer holidays. Meanwhile, ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester looks back on a productive July filled with various workshops, training and of course business coaching.

Kingsbrook Workshop at The Langstone Quay Resort

In July, Sarah and the ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester team hosted a workshop in partnership with Kingsbrook at The Langstone Quay Resort on Hayling Island. This free event attracted a diverse group of business owners from across the South, focusing on strategies to maximize business value for potential sales. Attendees left with valuable insights, including the importance of continuing to scale their businesses even when planning an exit.

Farnborough International Airshow

At the end of July, Sarah and Ellie attended the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, one of Sarah’s clients. They explored the trade show, enjoyed dining in the ABS lounge, and viewed the airshow from a   hospitality balcony. Sarah has been working with Farnborough International to enhance their workforce through multiple rounds of employee engagement training sessions.

Glowsure Insurance Brokers: Business Growth Story

Glowsure Insurance Brokers has been working closely with ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester for several years now after attending one of our FREE events.

An insurance broker based in Southampton, Glowsure is one of ActionCOACH Portsmouth and Chichester’s longest relationships. Founded by a husband and wife duo, Bex and Wes became member of our Group Coaching programme as they felt the business was not growing as quickly as they wanted it to.

Massive Client Win At an Awards Evening

A few months ago, we nominated Chichester Cars for an award at their local chambers and we are proud to announce that they won!

Chichester Cars is a family run garage in West Sussex that was been working closely with Steve, our director and leading business coach, to create strategies for growth that focuses around the delivery of their services.

The team at Chichester Cars has been noticed for their hard work and dedication and won, ‘Best Customer Service’ at The Chichester Chambers Awards 2024!

Chichester Cars has invested time and money over the years into their team to ensure that they all have the skillset to deliver the service that the garage promises. By taking the time to invest into their workforce, Chichester cars has been able to show the difference of themselves compared to their competitors which is made up of other local businesses as well as large corporate companies.

A massive well done to our client, as well as all the other winners on the night! It is great to see local businesses being recognised for all of their hard work!

Group Coaching is BACK!

In June we announce that our Group Coaching programme is back!

Group Coaching is an opportunity for smaller businesses in Hampshire and West Sussex to take advantage of businesses coaching at a fraction of the price. We are able to do this as we host several different businesses from across the South every 2 weeks.

We welcomes owners and directors into our office in June to have a special taster day of how the programme will work and we are hosting another taster session on Monday the 8th of July.

GrowthCLUB

Another quarter is coming to a close and another one is about to start! On the 20th of June, we were back again at The Marriott hotel in Portsmouth to host our famous GrowthCLUB workshop and we were joined by a very special guest speaker, James Vincent!

In the morning, our team welcomed all of our guests and used it as an opportunity to grab a drink, a snack and a chat with fellow attendees. Quickly after 9am, Gary Mullins welcomed everyone into the room and asked everyone to share their wins for the last quarter, which included:

  • Treasure Gym: Second gym planning permission granted
  • Vulcan Offshore: Double turnover results
  • JRB Refrigeration: £1m turnover
  • Aspect Electrical: Tackled challenges within their workforce
  • Pathways To Hope: Gained time back outside of the business

After the introduction to the day, James Vincent, who is ActionCOACH UK’s Performance and Growth Director came to the stage to go through some of the ActionCOACH’s proven methods and strategies.

Once James had spoken, everyone joined together to network over some lunch with was provided by The Marriott Hotel in their main restaurant.

After lunch, Sarah, who is another one of our business coaches started the 90 day planning for the guests, showing them what they should include, how to set goals and how to create an actionable plan.

We host our GrowthCLUB every three months and is a full day event that has been designed to show business owners from across the South how to plan their next 90-days in business. As well as planning their next quarter, there is always the opportunity to educate with either a specially created workshop that the topic has been chosen by the last attendees or an industry leading speaker will come in and present.

Expanding Our Workshops to the Southampton Area

At the beginning of June we headed west to The Hilton Hotel in Southampton to host one of our FREE 6 Steps events.

We had a range of businesses join us from Southampton and Hampshire join us for the event and learn what the six fundamentals are to a more profitable business.

Having the opportunity to expand our workshops is a great opportunity for us to connect with new businesses who might not know what business coaching is and how valuable a service like ours is.

A Special Networking Event for Our Partnership Manager

In June, Matt, our Partnership’s Manager, went to the first conference day being ran by Bizpedia at the amazing Fairmont Hotel in Winsor.

Bizpedia is an exclusive business club that brings its members together on a quarterly basis to network, share ideas and partake in a variety of leisurely activities.

The first conference saw speaker Barry Hearn OBE talk about his successes and lessons in building a billion pound company and the succession planning to his son Eddie Hearn. Also to join him on stage was Maya Raichoora, who spoke about how to use visualisation and mindfulness to improve your life.

Following on from these amazing speakers, Matt joined the rest of Bizpedia’s guests for lunch and then some games out on the grounds of the hotel. These games included rock climbing, axe throwing and duck herding with Border Collies, which was no surprise Matt’s favourite activity of the day!

Finally, to finish off the day everyone joined together to network over some drinks and a BBQ on our very own private lawn!
