On Thursday 28th April we hosted our quarterly GrowthCLUB with Frank Dick as the guest speaker!
To start off the event, we asked each table what their group’s best win was for the last 3 months. We had five entries in total, which were:
- Vulcan: They had a record-doubled turnover and opened a brand new machine shop.
- Meridian Medical: They continue to grow and they have had their biggest turnover to date.
- D Squared: 40% turnover increase and profit. As well as, paying their staff a bonus for all of their hard work.
- Shepard’s & Solent Mobility Centre: They both have been able to have the best year to date in terms of turnover and profit.
- Northface Connections: The Managing Director, Kelly Thorne, was able to take time away from the business and through her ongoing relationship with ActionCOACH Portsmouth & Chichester, she was able to trust that her staff was able to continue to run the business without her present. When she returned from a long personal leave, she was able to see how much her staff stepped up and she noticed how the business thrived!
Every GrowthCLUB, we ask for the top wins and ask everyone to vote for a winner. This time round we were able to give out a prize to Northface Connections for their massive win!
As part of business coaching, we help business owners and directors manage their teams and time to ensure that they can take time away from their businesses and have faith that their team will be okay to run the business without them present. Many business owners find this a massive struggle and we are proud to say that our work with Kelly and her team has been successful and she can see the benefits which not just includes growth and profits but also her work/life balance.
After celebrating all of our client’s wins over the last few months, Steve then introduced Frank to take centre stage.
Frank Dick is one of the world’s leading motivational coaches and has a background in sports. He has been recognised for his hard work and dedication to the sporting industry over the years and has helped coach many sportsmen from around the globe.
Having spoken at one of our events before, many of the attendees knew who Frank was and were excited to hear more about his life and his coaching styles. He was able to use his life stories of training some of the best athletes in the world and apply these stories as proof of his coaching style. Everyone in the room was able to take something away from Frank’s talk which included:
- Why you should be continuously learning
- Investing in your team
- The psychology behind being able to adapt, specifically The Yerkes-Dobson Law
- How important preparation is
When Frank finished, we went around the room and asked what everyone’s key points that they were going to take away were, as well as asking Frank some additional questions. Many people mentioned that you should always come back and focus on the main thing and not be blinked by any other distractions.
To finish off the morning, Frank showed everyone the importance of decompressing after a long day at work and showed everyone a routine that they should follow to unwind from a busy day at work.
We then broke up for lunch where everyone was able to network with one another, speak with our team and have a personal chat with Frank himself. After having lunch, which is fully provided to our guests at the event, we then went back into the conference room and started our 90-day planning.
Every 3 months, we welcome our clients and non-clients to join us to plan their next 90 days in business as the impact that preparation has can be life-changing. This is because you can set goals for yourself and see how you are going to get there. Being able to plan out your next 90 days in business with fellow business owners, directors and our coaches means that if you do have any questions raised you can have the advice and assistance then and there.
In addition to this, many business owners struggle to take the time to sit down and work out a plan of action for how they are going to reach their goals, not only in their business but also in their personal lives. Many of our attendees, join us for GrowthCLUB because they are being held accountable by someone else.
